The short film we made for FNHC & FNHA premiered at Gathering Wisdom lX!
This video is now online. It introduces leaders to the key themes of Gathering Wisdom, including a reflection on progress since health transfer (2013), healing and resilience, reclaiming our wellbeing, and health as the foundation of nation-rebuilding. It ends with a call to action for leaders to take up this work in their own communities.
We are honoured to be working on this series of films that showcase positive stories of resilience. We hope leadership will be inspired to be part of the important work made possible since the First Nations Health Authority was formed.
This first short film is the first of two films we are doing. It features visuals of Mowachaht/Muchalaht youth and community members who were part of our Drawing Wisdom workshop back in February. The vision statement for the FNHC/FNHDA/FNHA is “Healthy, Self-Determining, Vibrant BC First Nations Children, Families, and Communities.” We think the Mowachaht/Muchalaht youth represent ‘vibrant’ very well!
Now, our team has just returned from shooting in the Northern Region, in Nadleh Whut’en Territory, and Iskut in Tahltan Territory. We have been inspired by the land, the people and the stories they have shared with us. We are deeply grateful.
